Lindsay Barr is a dramaturg, arts educator, and administrator. Through her work, Lindsay strives to make connecting with the arts as engaging and accessible as possible. There is art inside of every person, they just need a brave space to find it.  

 

Now Pittsburgh, PA based, Lindsay is a freelance dramaturg, and administrator at the Pittsburgh Public Theater.  She has also worked with several local arts organizations including the Carnegie Museum of Art and City Theater Company. 2024 credits include: The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley (Dramaturg, City Theatre) The Hobbit (Dramaturg, Pittsburgh Public Theater), Flowers, Gone (Dramaturg, Young Playwrights Festival, City Theater).

 

A  graduate from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, with a focus study of Dramaturgy, her favorite projects included: co-writing and directing a new musical Cruessical: The Crucible, a Seussical-Like Musical, and serving as dramaturg for the premier of Liza Birkenmeier's new play The Way Out West.

 

Originally from Orlando Fl., Lindsay attended the Dr. Phillips High School Theater Magnet program, and spent time attending classes and volunteering with the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, where she fostered a love for classical theater and performance.

Lindsay has enjoyed contributing to the field through publications and presentations including a chapter contribution in Dramaturgy and History: Staging the Archive (Routledge, 2024) and presentations at conferences including; American Theater in Higher Education (ATHE), Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), and the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region 2. She is an active member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas and serves on the board of Aviva Arts.
