Lindsay Barr is a dramaturg, arts educator and administrator, and director. She has worked across the country and the globe with companies like the Vienna's English Theatre, at their two schools- SHOWTIME and VETA, San Francisco's foolsFURY ensemble theater company as a dramaturg and grants researcher, and as a festival intern with the Amherst, MA based Ko Fest. 

 

Now Pittsburgh, PA based, Lindsay is a Coordinator of the Carnegie Museum of Art Gallery Associate Department, bringing a dramaturgical sensibility to fine arts engagement. She has worked with several local arts organizations including the Pittsburgh Public Theater as an educational fellow, and City Theater Company as an education assistant and literary intern. A recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, B.F.A. '20, with a focus study of Dramaturgy, Some of her favorite projects included: co-writing and directing a new musical Cruessical: The Crucible, a Seussical-Like Musical, and serving as dramaturg for the premier of Liza Birkenmeier's new play The Way Out West.

 

Originally from Orlando Fl., Lindsay attended the Dr. Phillips High School Theater Magnet program, and spent a great deal of time attending classes and volunteering with the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, where she fostered a love for classical theater and performance.

In 2019 Lindsay was included in the ATHE conference as a part of the Dramaturgy Debut Panel, presenting a case study of her work on The Way Out West. She is also an active member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas.
